Radio Installation Kit to Remove the Factory Radio and Connect Your Aftermarket Radio / CD Player in Your '97-'05 Porsche 911 or Boxster.

Our radio replacement hardware kit works with all trim levels and years of the 996 and 986 Porsche vehicles. This includes models that are equipped with Bose, Hi-Fi, and base audio systems, as well as vehicles that are equipped with the fiber optic MOST bus system (please see note below).

Replacing the Radio in Your Porsche Is a Fairly Straightforward Project and Has Been Well Documented by CAI-Store.Com

 The kit comes with genuine Porsche radio removal keys that are required in order to remove your original Porsche radio. Simply insert the keys as shown in the included instructions and the radio will slide right out. 

Aftermarket CD players mount right into the dash without any permanent modifications or special tools. The kit includes a Porsche specific wire harness that will allow you to directly integrate your aftermarket head unit with your car. Please note that '03 and up 911's and Boxsters require two circuits to be added to the car (retained accessory power, and optional illumination). Our kit includes both of these extra circuits as well as specific instructions for these vehicles.

Also included in our kit is one of two antenna adapters (one for '97-'02 and one for '03-'05) that will allow your aftermarket radio to interface with the European antenna arrangement that your car is equipped with.

Tech Note :

'03-'05 vehicles with factory amplified audio systems (if your car has speakers located in the doors then it has a factory amplifier) must also add an aftermarket amplifier when upgrading the factory radio. (04-05 cars will also work with a MOST Bus converter, which we have available. 2003 cars aren't compatible.) The factory amplifier in these vehicles is not compatible with any aftermarket radio. An appropriate aftermarket amplifier will be required, and will function with the factory speakers. If you are in need of an amplifier and hardware kit for your car feel free to give us a call so that we can put together a package that meets your specific needs. 

'97-'02 vehicles are not affected. The factory amplifier including Bose and subwoofer equipped arrangements are perfectly compatible.
